817th Attack Squadron
This squadron was the former 417th Transport Squadron. The 817th Attack Squadron was activated at Nha Trang air base in June 1969 after the 417th TS re-equipped with AC-47D Spookys ("Puff-the magic dragon"). It is not known if these were later replaced with AC-119Gs or Ks.819th Attack Squadron
The 819th Attack Squadron was activated at Tan Son Nhut air base in September 1971. It flew AC-119G Shadow gunships.821st Attack Squadron
The 821st Attack Squadron was commissioned at Tan Son Nhut air base in December 1972. It flew AC-119K Stinger gunships.
